Meet the Staff
All staff members at New England Montessori School are certified in First Aid and CPR.
Katie Gilman is the sole proprietor of NEMS. Katie has been with NEMS since opening day in October of 2001. Katie has an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and a B.S. in Elementary Education from Champlain College. She also received her diploma from the North American Montessori Center for the Preschool/Kindergarten Montessori Teacher Training Program. Katie is married and has three beautiful children.
Carol Livingston is an Assistant Teacher in Room 106. She has been part of our teaching team here at NEMS since April of 2003. Carol has received her Montessori Training through NorthEast Montessori Institute. She has helped implement an art program for the children of NEMS and offers it as an extracurricular activity. She also runs the Early Drop Program for our school. Carol is married and has two fabulous children!
Kim Hegarty is the Director of NEMS. Kim has been with NEMS since September of 2002. Kim has a B.S. in Sports/Fitness from Salem State University and an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from North Shore Community College. She received her diploma from the North American Montessori Center as well. Kim is married and has three children and two beautiful grandchildren.
Christine Downey is a Lead Teacher in Room 104. Christine has been part of our teaching team since September of 2012. Christine has her B.S. in Early Childhood Education and her Masters in Reading, both from Salem State University. Christine has received training from the NorthEast Montessori Institute as well. Christine is married and has four wonderful children!
Marcia Lambert is an Assistant Teacher in Room 105. She has been a part of our teaching team here at NEMS since September of 2004. Marcia received an Associate Degree in Dental Lab Technology. She also received her Montessori Assistant Teacher Training through NorthEast Montessori Institute. Marcia is married and has two fantastic children!
Rosalee Scozzari is a lead teacher in Room 100. She has been with us since November of 2010. She received her B.S. in Early Childhood Education from Regis College. Rosalee is currently enrolled in the North American Montessori Teacher Training Program and is due to receive her diploma in the spring of 2013. Rosalee is married and has three wonderful children!
Binali Madani is an assistant teacher in Room 100. She has been part of the teaching team at NEMS since September of 2010, first as a volunteer, then a substitute and now as an assistant teacher. She received her B.S. in Psychology from Xavier’s College in India and has a Montessori Associates Degree from the North American Montessori Center. Binali is married and has two amazing children!
Suzanne Campano is the Lead teacher in Room 105 and has been with NEMS since the winter of 2013. Suzanne received her B.S. in Elementary Education from Salem State University in 1994 and worked at the Bagnall Elementary School since 1994. She was a 1st Grade Teacher, a substitute for grades 1st, 3rd and 5th, and an instructional tutor as well. Suzanne is married and has two beautiful girls!
Taylor Buonagurio is Lead Teacher in Room 106. She has been part of our teaching team since September of 2014. Taylor has her degree in Early Childhood Education from Northern Essex Community College and has 7 previous years of hands on experience in a preschool environment. Taylor is married and has two beautiful children.
Melissa Crowley is one of the teachers in Room 104 and has been part of our teaching team since September of 2015. Melissa received her Associate Degree from Hesser College in 1992 in Early Childhood Education. Melissa is married and has a wonderful 12 year old son.
Helen Politano began as the assistant teacher in Room 104 on Tuesday and Thursday mornings in September of 2016. She volunteered and substituted at NEMS for over a year before the start of her employment. Helen provided child care for infants through age 4 out of her home for 9 years. She also was a Girl Scout leader for over 5 years. Helen is married and has two wonderful children.
